Speech Therapy Reimbursement Starting in 2025

As of 2025, speech therapy is covered by the basic health insurance. No additional insurance is required. Our practice has contracts with all health insurers, which means treatments are billed directly to the insurer.

For children under 18:

- Speech therapy is covered by the basic insurance  
- No deductible applies  
- Both in-person and online sessions are included in the coverage

For adults (18 years and older):

- Speech therapy is covered by the basic insurance  
- The mandatory deductible applies

Referral: When Is It Required?

In most cases, a referral is not needed thanks to Direct Access to Speech Therapy (DTL). This means you can schedule an intake without consulting a doctor first.

Note: In some situations, a referral is required, for example:  
- For children aged 5 and older when treatment takes place during school hours and they are subject to compulsory education  

We always follow the current guidelines set by health insurers and legal regulations.

 

Rates for Non-Reimbursed Speech Therapy

For treatments not covered by health insurance, the following rates apply in our online practice starting in 2025:

- Intake and online assessment (with referral) – €94  
- Online therapy session – €46  
- Phone consultation (brief 15-minute discussion) – €30  
- Online parent/caregiver consultation or instruction – €46  
- Coordination with third parties (e.g., teacher or doctor) – €44  
- Reporting for external parties (per 30 minutes) – €44
